Application to participate in COST activities and represent Lithuania on the COST Management Committee

Project idea

The aim of this project is to represent Lithuania on the committee of the COST Action “Networking European Security Knowledge (NetSec)”. NetSec seeks to create an inclusive, interdisciplinary network that integrates diverse perspectives in the field of European defense and security, fosters synergy among different national and local epistemic communities, bridges the gap between the academic and political spheres, and nurtures a new generation of security researchers.

As a member of the NetSec board, Prof Dr Margarita Šešelgytė will represent Lithuania at meetings and, together with other team members, will disseminate information about the network’s opportunities to experienced and young researchers and participate in the activities of WG1 and WG3. Within the NetSec network, researchers from IIRPS VU will: 1) prepare a scientific publication (manifesto) with other NetSec members; 2) assist in organizing a summer school; 3) engage in mentoring; 4) participate in a short-term research mission; 5) present papers at international academic or practical events (conferences, seminars; including a presentation of NetSec’s results); 6) contribute data from Lithuania to the security community’s database.
