Online discussion “Divergent European responses to the war in Ukraine”

VU TSPMI is inviting you to an online discussion „Divergent European responses to the war in Ukraine“
The main goal is that this event will explore the disjointed European response to the invasion of Ukraine, with a specific focus on the on the role of the Baltic States within this. As some of Europe’s most stringent supporters of the strong economic and political response, have the Baltic States found a European ‘leadership’ role in the current crisis? And as the war drags on, with increasing threats of an ever more dangerous escalation, what role can the Baltic States play in maintaining a unified European position? The discussion will also ask how the UK can continue to strengthen Europe’s ‘front-line’ states in the east.
Participants of the discussion are: University of Cambridge lecturer Prof. Brendan Simms, University of Latvia lecturer Associate Prof. Toms Rostoks, The International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) senior fellow Kalev Stoicescu and IIRPS VU director Associate Prof. Margarita Šešelgytė.
The discussion will be moderated by IIRPS VU lecturer Dr. Lina Strupinskienė.
The discussion will take place on the 31st of March at 5:30 PM (EET). The discussion will be live streamed on the VU TSPMI Facebook page.
