Lecture “The role of the European Council within the EU in managing the COVID-19 crisis: a transformative actor once again?”

Jean Monnet Chair professor at IIRPS VU Ramūnas Vilpišauskas invites to a public lecture “The role of the European Council within the EU in managing the COVID-19 crisis: a transformative actor once again?”, which will take place on the 9th of March, at 16.45 (EET). The lecture will be given by a leading researcher in the field of European Union political system and European integration, prof. Wolfgang Wessels. Prof. Wessels is the director of the Centre for Turkey and European Union Studies (CETEUS) at the University of Cologne and holds Jean Monnet Chair ad personam for Political Science since 1990.

In his lecture, Professor will discuss the role of the European Council as „master of the enlargement“. Reflecting recent developments, the lecture will analyze the role of this institution in COVID-19 crisis management.

The lecture is a part of course “EU public policies”, provided by Jean Monnet Chair professor R. Vilpišauskas at IIRPS VU.
