Discussion “From quick wins to painful defeats: managing the COVID-19 crisis in Lithuania”

6 January 2021, 10am-12pm Institute of International Relations and Political Science (Vilnius University) invites you to a remote event to discuss the management of the COVID-19 crisis in the country. During the event, researchers from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science (IIRPS VU) will present the main results of the research project “Lithuania’s and other EU Member States’ Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Implications for Public Policy and Emergency Management”, which was carried out in June-December 2020, and will also discuss the current challenges in managing the pandemic with the country’s key decision-makers and experts.

Event programme:

10.00 – 10.45 Presentation of the survey results. Healthcare system and economic policy response to the COVID-19 crisis in Lithuania and the EU (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vytautas Kuokštis and Prof. Dr. Ramūnas Vilpišauskas) and Management of the COVID-19 crisis in Lithuania (Prof. Dr. Vitalis Nakrošis and Dr. Rasa Bortkevičiūtė)

10.45 – 12.00 Discussion on the management of the COVID-19 crisis in 2021. The discussion will be attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania Arūnas Dulkys, the Member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Lukas Savickas, the Chairman of the Board of the ESTEP Dr. Klaudijus Maniokas, and the professor of Kaunas University of Technology Dr. Audronė Telešienė. The conversation will be moderated by commentator and philosopher Paulius Gritėnas.

The event will be broadcast on the LRT.lt portal and VU TSPMI Facebook account, where viewers will be able to ask questions to the event participants.
