Project idea

The aim of this project is to acquire software related to the “Facing the Past. Public History for a Stronger Europe” (EUROPAST) project under the European Union’s Horizon Europe program for research and innovation, with the goal of improving the quality and scope of ongoing R&D activities.

The MAXQDA software will be used to transcribe the interview recordings from the EUROPAST research project, thereby improving the quality of the transcriptions as well as saving time and human resources. These resources will then be transferred to the conduct of additional interviews, thus expanding the scope of the planned interviews. Given that the interviews collected during the project, in accordance with the project’s data management plan, will be made open and accessible in an open dataset within the MIDAS system, this acquisition will also create added value for the broader scientific community.

The acquired MAXQDA software will additionally be used to organize and analyze the interview transcripts collected during the project when preparing the planned publications. The MAXQDA software, which allows for the coding of textual and visual documents, will significantly contribute to the quality and efficiency of the EUROPAST team’s work. The software’s capacity to facilitate collaboration among multiple researchers within a single project will also enhance the inter-coder reliability of the coding performed in the studies.
