Description:

This book is an attempt to at least partially fill in the gap of the philosophical life during the past several decades in Lithuania. The book strives to undertake an analysis of three different aspects of constructing political experience. The same political phenomena appear differently when we look at them through the lens of practice, theory, and arts. The study is analyzing the conflict between the Enlightenment and Romanticism, the post-modern aesthetization of politics, similarities between the political and aesthetic solutions, the growing dangers to the union of the modern moral and politics, M. Oakeshott’s attitude towards the interaction of various modes of human experience and politics’ relations with practice, theory, and arts. [Excerpt from the publication].
