Simonas Algirdas Spurga is a PhD candidate and researcher at the Institute.
In 2017, he graduated with an MSc in Political Science and Political Economy (with Distinction) from the London School of Economics (LSE), and in 2015, with a BA in Political Science (Diploma Cum Laude) from IIRPS VU.
In 2023–24, he completed a research visit at University of Geneva, Switzerland.
Simonas has published in the European Journal of Political Economy, Comparative Economic Studies, and Competition & Change.
From 2021 to 2023, he worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the US. Currently, he works at the Bank of Lithuania, where he leads the IMF Policy Analysis Group.
