Jelena Šalaj defended her dissertation in the field of psychology in Vilnius University.  Her academic interests are focused on visuality studies, qualitative research methods (thematical analysis, interpretative-phenomenological analysis, autoethnography, etc.), media literacy, and culture education. She deepened her knowledge and experience in Aston and Birmingham universities as well as Phenomenological Research Institute.  In 2017-2018, Jelena was leading a project “Women in Lithuanian Cinema Industry”, organized by public enterprise “Meno Avilys”. She is currently teaching qualitative research methods in Vilnius and Klaipėda universities, is a member of organizational committee of Phenomenological Research Institute. Researcher is also interested in analog photography, leads a personal website www.vienok.lt
