Public Lecture by Lior Tabansky “Cybered Influence Operations: theory, practice, results“

Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University together with the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania invites you to the public lecture by Mr. Lior Tabansky “Cybered Influence Operations: theory, practice, results“. Event will take place on 4th of October, Wednesday, at 5:00 p.m., at IIRPS VU (Vokiečių str. 10), room 402.

The events of 2014 have shown that the risk of political debate and decision-making being influenced by hostile Influence Operations via Social Media is no longer theoretical. The West was caught off-guard by the bloodless annexation of Crimea, and the following warfare in Eastern Ukraine. If this Western reaction can be partly attributed to pro-Russian Influence Operations that utilized the unique attributes of Social Media  aspects of Cyber Power should be reassessed. Lior Tabansky focuses on the recent shift in threat perception that resulted in NATO and European research and policy efforts to defend against hostile Influence Operations.

Lior Tabansky will be attending national conference for cyber security „Cyber Inn 2017“ organised by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania and INFO BALT.
