Admission Requirements for International Students

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Social Science or Humanities
  • Proof of English language proficiency: minimum 80 of TOEFL (iBT) or 550 (pBT) or at least 6 of IELTS score. 

Note: if your mother tongue is English and/or if you have a university degree in English you will be exempt from providing an English language test score.

Selection Criteria are Based on:

  • The weighted average of all grades recorded in the transcript of the student's academic report;
  • Applicant's letter of motivation.

Application deadline for non-EU/EEA citizens -1st of May; for EU/EEA citizens - 15th of June. The admission results will be announced in one month after the deadline. You will receive a written confirmation via e-mail.

Note: Due to the migration regulations the non EU citizens who need entrance visa to Lithuania are encouraged to start application procedure a year before the studies should commence.

Grants:

Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania has approved the list of foreign states whose nationals may apply for support for full-time second-cycle study programs in Lithuanian higher education institutions. Nationals from Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan can apply for scholarships and allowances by the 1st of August 2012. All the information here


Admission Requirements for National Students

  • Proof of English language proficiency: minimum 80 of TOEFL (iBT) or 550 (pBT) or at least 6 of IELTS score. 

Selection Criteria are Based on:

  • The weighted average of all grades recorded in the transcript of the student's academic report;
  • Evaluation of applicant's statement of interest: national applicants to the Eastern and Central European Studies programme write their Statement of Interest and Competence at the premises of the IIRPS VU on a date set by the Eastern and Central European Studies Committee.
